Royal Perth Hospital

Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) is the largest tertiary / teaching hospital in the state.
RPH is Western Australia’s major trauma centre housing the State Trauma Unit, the State Adult Burns Unit and State Spinal Unit. It has the second busiest emergency department in Australia.
RPH offers nurses a progressive and professional clinical setting. You will have the opportunity to participate in groundbreaking research opportunities and work for an organisation committed to evidence-based practice standards.
All RPH nurses have access to education and professional development including ward based in-service, structured study days, cheap or free courses, external courses and postgraduate training plus library, intranet and internet resources. The hospital also coordinates support and mentorship programs and succession planning for nursing staff.
The hospital is also home of the 2005 Australian of the Year (Fiona Wood) and the 2005 Nobel Laureate winners (Professor Barry Marshall and Dr Robin Warren).
The hospital's Perth campus covers 10.3 hectares with 583 beds while the Shenton Park campus covers 15.7 hectares with 162 beds. Both campuses are easily accessible by public transport. In total, RPH employs 1966 nurses and 946 doctors.
Graduate programs
RPH offers many opportunities for graduate ENs and RNs during the 24 month competency graduate nurse program. This program provides a supportive learning environment that is designed to develop new graduates in their nursing careers. A joint program with Bentley Mental Health Service is also available for RNs interested in the mental health area.
