 Fremantle Hospital is a large tertiary and teaching hospital located 16 kilometres south of Perth’s CBD in the port city of Fremantle.
Nursing staff have access to a suite of postgraduate learning opportunities offered in conjunction with University of Notre Dame and Curtin University including a perioperative nursing course, intensive care course, renal course and postgraduate certificate in clinical nursing. Other courses such as a hyperbaric nursing course and a stomal therapy course are run annually in-house.
The nurse support networks within the hospital encourage the development of future leaders from within their own ranks.
In addition to the range of clinical specialty areas offered, Fremantle Hospital and Health Service houses the only public hyperbaric unit in metropolitan Perth.
The hospital’s services are located across two campuses, the main campus in Fremantle and Kaleeya Hospital in East Fremantle. The main campus is 7.6 hectares in size. Overall the hospital has 487 multi and same day beds, including 56 mental health beds. We employ 2200 nurses and 400 medical staff. Easily accessible by public transport, the hospital is within walking distance of markets, cafes and shops.
