Applications for scholarships for study in 2013 will open 6 November 2012 and close 1 March 2013.
The Nursing and Midwifery Office has a range of scholarships for nursing and midwifery students studying in Western Australia. These scholarships have been offered to WA nurses and midwives since 1980.
We are continually reviewing the process of allocating all scholarships to ensure the process is accountable, transparent and administered using best practice processes.
Aboriginal students are strongly encouraged to apply for any of the relevant categories.
You may also be eligible for a discount on fees through the Public Sector Commission Tuition fee Discount Scheme (PDF)
Scholarship Applications are now closed for 2013
Applications open in November each year and close in March the following year.

Initial Registration Scholarships
The application process and the awarding of Initial Registration scholarships has recently changed. Please ensure you read all available information on the website and complete the process required.
- Enrolled Nurse
Diploma of Enrolled Nursing (includes applicants who are Assistants in Nursing, or Health Care Workers bridging to Enrolled Nurse - Enrolled Nurse to Registered Nurse Conversion
Enrolled Nurse to Registered Nurse Conversion Program - Registered Nurse
Bachelor of Science (Nursing) (includes Enrolled Nurses bridging to Registered Nurse, those with Hospital or Tertiary Educated Diplomas converting to a nursing degree, and those undertaking Honours or Graduate Entry Masters programs in nursing). - Midwife
Bachelor of Science (Midwifery) - Registered Nurse and Midwife Double Degree
Bachelor of Science (Nursing) / Bachelor of Science (Midwifery) - Renewal of Registration
Enrolled Nurse, Registered Nurse or Midwife.

Postgraduate Scholarships
- Enrolled Nurse Specialisation
Includes Advanced Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing): specialisation in mental health, anaesthetics, and aged care; and renal care course. - Registered Nurse Specialisation
Includes Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Master or PhD qualifications in nursing. - Midwifery
Includes Postgraduate Diploma and Masters qualifications in Midwifery. - Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
