Returning to nursing or midwifery

How to return to nursing or midwifery

There are four types of courses available to assist nurses and midwives to re-enter the workforce and / or develop their skills.

Renewal of registration programs assist nurses and midwives to regain their registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of WA (NMBWA) once lapsed.

Refresher programs assist nurses and midwives still registered with the NMBWA to return to working in an acute clinical setting.

Registration bridging programs assist overseas-educated nurses and midwives in gaining initial registration with the NMBWA.

Up-skilling programs enable nurses and midwives working in a clinical setting to increase their skills and move into another area of clinical expertise.
