Workforce planning
Workforce planning is undertaken by the Western Australian Department of Health’s Nursing and Midwifery Office, in conjunction with the area health services and individual hospitals and services. The Nursing and Midwifery Office is also responsible for workload monitoring. The Nursing Hours per Patient Day model has been used by the WA public health system to monitor nursing workload since 2003.
