Community Service Leave
WA Health has introduced a Community Service Leave provision for health professionals currently employed with us.
This Community Service Leave assists health professionals such as nurses and midwives, doctors and allied health staff who wish to offer their time and professional expertise to support under-serviced areas and countries.
This initiative is administered by the Executive Sponsor for International Health, Department of Health.
Aim
The aim of this initiative is to support and provide financial assistance to WA Health employers who support their employees to undertake or participate in approved local and international accredited aid programs:
- Committed to improving the lives of people in developing countries as per the international efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDG), and
- Commitment to improving indigenous health in rural and remote Western Australia.
Community leave funding support is not applicable to disaster and emergency related humanitarian work.
